By the second week of January, a lot is already being asked of you. New year, new you. A plan. A protocol. Five things to do differently this time, as if the last twelve months were a draft and this one has to be the final version. Even rest gets recruited into this, optimise your sleep, reset your gut, do January properly, until resting becomes one more thing to get right.
At
PAUS, the Cambridgeshire countryside opens out around you, wood fired hot tubs under open sky, a Finnish sauna, nowhere to be but here.
This is not a retreat designed to fix your year before it's properly begun. There is no protocol, no five step plan, no better version of yourself waiting at the end of it for you to become. It is a full day, in a beautiful place, with people who have decided that pausing is not an indulgence. It is necessary.
What we do with the day is simple. Movement to open. A shared lunch. The wild spa, heat, cold, and however much conversation you want. Restorative practice to slow it all back down. A sound bath to close. Nothing complicated, nothing to master. Just enough structure to hold you, and enough space to actually arrive, and take a long, slow exhale.
